National S'mores Day!
Today is National S'mores Day! What a great excuse to make S'mores right?! I found some great variations of the campfire classic: S'mores Cheesecake, S'mores Sundaes, Bite-size S'mores, and S'mores Mini Cakes.
BTW, in my search for new recipes, I came across Mozzarella "S'mores" made with sun-dried tomatoes, basil, mozzarella, and grilled bread. Yum!

Ice Pops
I love these Ice Pop Makers from IKEA. They are a steal for $1.99! Epicurious has recipes for homemade popsicles. I think I'll have to try the orange and mango.

Ming Makes Cupcakes
Have you ever heard about Ming Makes Cupcakes? I hadn't! Ashley of Hither and Thither recently posted about these fabulous cupcakes. I haven't really been a huge cupcake fan. I enjoy them but let's be honest, any dessert will do. Well, I may have to try these recipes. Don't they look absolutely fantastic?!
BTW, I did notice the irony of posting about going to the gym and then the following post being about cupcakes...

Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution
"I believe that every child in America has the right to fresh, nutritious meals, and that every family deserves real, honest, wholesome food. Too many people are being affected by what they eat. It's time for a national revolution. America needs to stand up for better food!"
"This Food Revolution is about changing the way we eat. We need to start cooking again, to make sure our children don't grow up on a diet of processed food, at school or at home, and so they won't have to battle obesity and diet-related illnesses when they grow up. Cooking is one of the most important skills a person can have and it has been proved that families who cook together eat better. A small change in your kitchen could save the life of someone you love. America needs to do something now, before it's too late."
-- Jamie Oliver
Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution is such a great cause and I admire anyone who uses their fame for good. I'm sure many of you are watching his show on ABC. It's fantastic, isn't it?! Jamie Oliver is asking everyone to sign a petition that he is planning on taking to the White House. If you support the Food Revolution, please sign here!

Shamrocks and Irish Soda Bread
Happy St. Patrick's Day! I love this holiday! Every year, my family has a St. Patrick's Day dinner that consists of corned beef, cabbage, carrots, and Irish soda bread. This year I was looking on Epicurious and found an article entitled The Great Irish Soda Bread Debate. Apparently, Irish soda bread made with caraway seeds and raisins isn't really traditional at all! The article goes on about the history and it also has seven recipes for different types of soda bread. Out of the seven variations, Bon Appétit's Irish Soda Bread with Raisins and Caraway and Soda Bread with Dark Chocolate and Candied Orange Peel recipes sound quite delicious.
BTW, if you like the flower arrangement above, see the tutorial here.
